United 16U is thrilled to transition into the summer tournament phase of its inaugural 2023-24 season after a spectacular round-robin weekend against the EN Enforcers and Banshees Red.

In their first game against the Banshees, the United showcased their hitting power with an eleven-run spurt in the 5th inning, securing a commanding 14-6 victory.

Game 1 highlights included doubles by Aubrey R. and Bella S., as well as standout moments on defense, including a double play turned by Aubrey at SS. Jill P. received the starting nod at pitcher, allowing no runs and striking out 3 before being relieved by Sadie L. The team’s pitching, supported by error-free defense, solidified the United’s dominant performance.

In their second game of the day, despite being shorthanded, the team again put on a strong display, taking a 4-1 lead over the Enforcers heading into the bottom of the 2nd. But a formidable foe, the Enforcers retook the lead, with the final score being Enforcers 7 United 5 when time expired.

At the conclusion of the round-robin, as a heartwarming Mother’s Day gesture, United players expressed gratitude to their mothers in attendance by presenting yellow and red roses.

United 16U now looks forward to the upcoming summer tournaments, poised to build upon early spring successes and take on opponents on a larger stage. Up first, USSSA’s Beast of the East tournament on June 8th and 9th.
