Spring Softball Divisions

8U, 10U, 12U, and 15U softball teams are formed each March with play occurring between April and June. Wentz Run Park serves as the program's primary home, its upper and lower softball fields playing host to practices and home games for all age divisions. Additional school fields in the Wissahickon school district are utilized when needed.

Note: Your daughter's age on January 1st will determine her "softball age" and division assignment. See descriptions below. Our online registration system, powered by TeamSnap, will automatically match your player with the proper division.

8U SOFTBALL

For softball ages 6-8, our rookie division teaches players the basic fundamentals and rules of the sport in a relaxed environment. Coaches pitch to players and no scores are kept. Players and parents should expect two scheduled activities per week, which includes a practice (Monday through Friday) and a Saturday game. In addition to home games, teams may travel to East Norriton.

10U SOFTBALL

Softball ages 9-10 graduate to our more competitive 10u Division, where WRA teams compete inside the Inter-Community Girls Softball League (ICGSL) which consists of teams from surrounding areas including Abington-Roychester, Ambler, Ardsley, Conshohocken, East Abington, Germantown, Glenside, Roslyn, Springfield, and Upper Dublin.

10u operates under a modified version of the American Softball Association Rules and features kid and coach pitching, limited base stealing, professional home plate umpires, W-L records, an All Star Game, and an end-of-season tournament. Players and parents should expect 3 scheduled activities per week including practices, home games, and away games.

12U & 15U SOFTBALL

For softball ages 11-12 and 13-15, our 12u and 15u divisions compete within the Inter-Community Girls Softball League and play under official ASA rules. Features include exclusive kid pitching, the stealing all of bases, professional home plate umpires, W-L records, an All-Star Game, and an end-of-season tournament. Home games are played at Wentz Run Park and teams travel to townships throughout Eastern Montergomery County. Players and parents should expect at least 3 scheduled activities Monday through Saturday; games or practices.

FUTURE SOFTBALLERS

For our youngest girls, ages 5-6, WRA offers the fast-moving Quickball Program. Quickball is a revolutionary program designed for girls and boys who are just beginning to explore the games of baseball and softball. Quickball makes the game more active and exciting to play and watch! Participants are always on the move with this fast-paced modern take on Tee-ball.
